L.A. Noire Wiki

Bob’s Hardware & Building Supply is a hardware and plumbing supply store in L.A. Noire. Though not featured in any cases, the store is fully accessible during business hours.

There are four locations in the game:

  • At the southwest corner of Lucas Avenue and Toluca Street (both unmarked on the map, but east of the Lucas Avenue Trolley Station and across the street from the large construction site) in the Westlake area
  • On the west side of Gless Street in Boyle Heights, just south of Errol Schroeder’s apartment
  • At the northwest corner of Maplewood Avenue and Western Avenue in the Wilshire area
  • On the east side of Wilton Place just south of the intersection with Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood

In some locations, there is a customer order ledger on the counter, indicating a likelihood that at some point in development there was a plan to make use of the business (e.g., in a cut case or desk). But the character models for the staff and customers are reuses of other character models in the game, and there is no location-specific dialogue, indicating that any such plans did not continue to the production stage.

Note that there are multiple other locations throughout the city, but these are the only ones accessible by the player.

Though similar on the outside, there are variations in interior layout. Some locations feature a service desk near the entrance and service counters in the main area, while others have hardware shelves toward the front, a service desk in the middle of the store, and a hallway leading to an inaccessible back area.

Other than signage, the stores appear nearly identical to Entz & Rucker.
