- "Now wasn't that a stupid thing to do?"
- ―Cole Phelps
"The Badger Game" is a Vice desk street crime case in L.A. Noire.
Situation[]
Detectives Cole Phelps and Roy Earle respond to a theft. As they arrive the victim, Chester King, is talking to the officer on scene. Phelps asks him what happened. King says that he was jumped and the muggers took his money. He points to a nearby alley, saying that's where they went. When the officer and detectives walk over in that direction, King smiles broadly, then gets into the officer's vehicle and speeds off.
Dispatch Call Script[]
Dispatch: Any Central unit, a 484 just occurred, 3155 West Fourth Street. Unit to handle Code Three, identify.
Cole Phelps: 11K calling KGPL. We'll take the 484.
Dispatch: 11K, see the man. Citizen reports a 484 just occurred at 3155 West Fourth Street. 11K handle, Code Three.
Walkthrough[]
Here you can select the Ford V8 Sedan to collect it for a number of Achievements/Trophies. It is available as a chase vehicle in the alley where Phelps is standing and it may be faster to enter, rather than running to the curb to get into their own vehicle.
King drives fast and when chasing him there are a few twists and turns, so do not be afraid to use the brakes to avoid getting hung up. Brakes are an excellent assistant in sharp turns.
You must stay close to him to either disable the vehicle or make it to a construction site, where he crashes and gets stuck.
Trivia[]
A badger game is a type of con, but specifically involves blackmail. Though Chester King conned the police in the above crime, it was only to get away. This crime's title appears to suggest that Chester may have been involved in something much more sinister.
